Bellevue is a sort of small town tucked away in the heart of Texas. It's quite normal, compared to other towns in the area. It has people who are just like any other humans on the earth. Sure, there are a few abnormalities, but that's to be expected. Everywhere in the world is like that.
Now, Bellevue has a high school, just like most towns do. A social system guides this school, as it does all others. Jocks and cheerleaders at the top and everyone else is controlled by them in some way. The school is of moderate size and includes every type of person out there. It has a pretty decent reputation in the area and sports and arts do fairly well at their trades. There is nothing overtly horrible about the establishment, except for the food. And overall, the school board seems to be happy with the way it is going. So does the upper caste.
Then it all flipped.
On May 23, 2010, the principal at Bellevue High School merely came to the school in order to grab some papers he had left. Though what he found hanging from the large weeping willow on the grounds was something different all together. A senior at the school, Clark Whitaker, had hung himself the night previous from its branches.
Now, everyone knew that Clark was a rather unhappy boy. He dressed in all black, his few close friends said he used to cut and he didn't quite have the best life at home. But it was a shock to the town that one of their own would take his life like this; and at the one place that brought him the most torment. Everyone blamed one another for what happened, not able to live with the guilt that they may have caused this young man misery enough to do such an awful thing. To say the least, all the cliques of the school were in shock. They didn't know how to act anymore. This one student's choice to end his own life sent the whole school topsy turvy.
It is left up to the individual, though, as to how they will act. Some will stay the same, some completely change. There will be those who want to make a difference and make sure this never happens again. Yet, others will not see it as their responsibility and keep going with what they did before. Shock and grief show in many different ways, creating a stunning scene to behold. In the end, every person in some way will just say 'fuck it' and the story will play out according to their decisions.
